Unifardas joined the national effort to prevent SARS COV 19 early on.
Driven by the desire to contribute to the minimization of the health problem in Portugal and in the World, as well as, due to the several requests from various hospital units in the country, we started to manufacture medical personal protection equipment such as balaclavas, surgical gowns and boot covers; All of the aforementioned products are waterproof.
Building on 26 years of experience in the production of workwear and protection, moving to the manufacture of medical devices was a small step.
In less than a week we were able to develop a supply chain 100% Portuguese to produce the protective equipment, also obtaining the necessary certifications from the Technological Center of the Textile and Clothing Industries of Portugal (CITEVE) and INFARMED. Due to this quickness and agility in adapting to the pandemic, Unifardas receive a public appreciation note from the Portuguese Health Minister, Dr. Marta Temido.
The Portuguese NHS (Direção Geral de Saúde), the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto and Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga are examples of the various institutions that received Unifardas products.
